More than useful
Giving Windows emotional range.

Windows had recognition to spare. What it needed was range. A brand can be known by a billion people and still be felt by almost none of them.
The safe brief was a visual refresh. The sharper question was why the most familiar software on earth had spent decades playing one note: useful. The work set a single condition. Nothing new would come at the cost of the Windows people already knew. So the brand’s emotional spectrum widened from functional to vibrant, human, dimensional, and everything people recognized stayed exactly where it was. Bloom, the new wallpaper, gave that range a face. It became a symbol woven through every expression of the brand, and the studios SixNFive, BUCK, NotReal, and Tendril carried it across every surface until people knew it on sight.
Outcome
The launch went out to more than a hundred markets and the range held in every one. It turns out useful was never the ceiling for Windows. It was the floor.
